UPPER MUSTANG TREK

Upper Mustang Trek follows the trial on Mustang which lies beyond the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif in central Nepal is the hidden Kingdom of Mustang, an intriguing scorched region, forming part of the Tibetan plateau. Untouched by the outside world, 16th century monasteries remain active, adorned with unrivalled frescoes, thankas and status of gigantic deities, preserving ancient traditions. Mustang is the land of Barley field’s pasture for grazing herds. These upper reaches of the Kali Gandaki river, which has tantalized a generation of trekkers – have recently been opened in 1992. Mustang being a restricted area, there are certain formalities required by the government of Nepal in obtaining a special permit. The journey to Mustang begins with a flight to Jomsom via Pokhara. Two days walking from Jomsom we cross the traditional boundary into the wild lunar landscape of Mustang.

JUMLA SHEY PHOKSUNDO LAK TREKKING

Dolpo is an ancient Tibetan kingdom located in the north east part of Nepal. It was only opened to trekkers in 1990. The Himalayan range can be seen in all its splendor, and Phoksondo lake with the Ringmo village provide some of the most beautiful Nepalese scenery. We follow the ancient Tibetan salt caravan route, across two high passes and through the wilderness in one of Nepal’s most remote areas. In the Dolpo region the monsoon, created by the sea winds blowing from the Gulf of Bengal, is tempered by the Dhaulagiri range and trekking is therefore also possible during the summer, a period during which flora explodes in all its splendor: orchids, edelweiss, campanules, forget-me-nots.

UPPER DOLPO VIA JOMSOM

This trekking area lies in far west area of Nepal. The upper dolpo area is restricted area as well where you need to have any special permits to go. Not so many tourists have been in this area. This area is physically hard because of the high passes. You could see nice landscape and villages. You could see perfect Mountain View from here. This area also offers the deepest lake of “Phokshendu” and biggest waterfall of “Suligard water fall”.

This trek leads us to Jomsom. It is main headquarter of Mustang District. It has a natural spring and a flame of natural gas that seems to burn on water.
